  The immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has revealed that the protest launched against the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was mere politics. Fayemi stated this while delivering his keynote address at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Professor Udenta Udenta, in Abuja, on Tuesday. The event was also graced by Jonathan; former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili; and former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others. On January 1, 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan announced the removal of fuel subsidy, therefore, adjusting the pump price of petrol from N65 per litre to N141 in a move that sparked mass protests, known as ‘Occupy Nigeria’ across major cities of the country. Nigerians slam Justice Mary Odili for accusing opposition of trying to chaos amid tribunal verdict.

  Nigerians have taken to social media to slam Retired Justice Mary Odili for suggesting that those who filed petitions against the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as winner of the 2023 presidential election are trying to cause chaos in the country. Justice Odili had while speaking on Friday at a colloquium held in honour of Joe Kyari Gadzama in Abuja, noted that Wole Olanipekun, the lawyer defending President Tinubu at the elections petitions tribunal, is a master of electoral disputes whose expertise in tribunal litigation inspires confidence for victory, affirming that “a resetting of the mind” is soon to come for losers who would eventually accept their loss. The singer cried out on Twitter, saying, “Dollar don reach 500… I changed Naira to Dollar today and I almost cried smh this country nawa.” Recently, Davido shared a cute photo of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, whom he welcomed with his fiancee, Chioma Avril-Rowland. Ifeanyi is Davido’s third child after two daughters from two other women. The singer was recently celebrated by Chioma on his 28th birthday today. Gunmen Kill Associate Professor In Benue

Gunmen on Saturday evening killed an Associate Professor with the University of Agriculture Makurdi, Karl Kwaghger, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. According to The Nation, Kwaghger, who was a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department of UAM, graduated from the same university and was offered employment where he rose to the rank of an Associate Professor. It was revealed that the lecturer was cornered to a dark side of the street by four men who stabbed him several times around 9.30 pm at opposite IBB square in Makurdi. A private security guard within the vicinity of the incident said he was on a routine patrol and found the man in his pool of blood on the ground, crying for help. The security guard said he contacted his boss on the phone, who immediately called the B Division Police Station but the victim died shortly before help came his way. The killers made away with his Avenza vehicle and phones. The police confirmed the incident, saying an investigation had commenced...
